The We Care Hospice inpatient Facility is a 24-bed facility located in historic Moss Point.  In keeping with the mission of We Care Hospice, the staff at the inpatient facility strive to relieve suffering, enhance comfort, promote quality of life and foster choice in end-of-life care for patients with life-limiting illnesses.  there are three levels of care at the We Care Hospice Inpatient Facility

GENERAL INPATIENT LEVEL OF CARE

Most of our patients utilize the General Inpatient Lever of Care, which provides procedures or treatments necessary for pain control or symptom management that cannot be provided at home or in a home-like setting.  Once pain and symptoms are controlled, the staff assists in placing the patient in an alternate setting.  General Inpatient Care is billed to medicare, Medicaid, and private insurances.  Some private insurances charge the patient/family a co-pay for General Inpatient Care.  While a patient remains in this level of care, there is no room and board charges.

HOSPICE RESIDENTIAL LEVEL OF CARE

Should a patient need to remain at the We Care Hospice Inpatient Facility once pain and symptoms are managed, his or her level of care will be changed to Hospice Residential Care and daily standard room and board charges wil be billed automatically.  Hospice Residential Care does not include room and board charges.  Room and board charges are not usually covered under the Medicare or Medicaid benefits and are not usually covered by private insurance.  The additional daily room and board charges are the responsiblity of the patient and family subject to the signed Patient/Family Payment Agreement for We Care Hospice

RESPITE LEVEL OF CARE

Should a caregiver need a short interval of rest or relief, a patient may be admitted to the We Care Hospice Inpatient Facility for Respite.  A Medicare or medicaid patient may also be admitted for up to five (5) days at the Respite Level of Care with no room and board charges.  Some private insurances also cover payment for Respite Care.  Occasionally a patient may need to extend Respite care beyond five (5) days.  Contingent on a bed availability, arrangements must be made in advance and the standard daily room and board rate will be charged.  These charges are the responsibility of the patient and family subject to the signed Patient/Family Payment Agreement for We Care Hospice
